Something familiar about this design? You may have already twigged that this is a play on the iconic painting made in 1929 by the surrealist artist Rene Magritte. The original work features a pipe, and the text underneath reads “Ceci n’est pas une pipe.” or ‘this is not a pipe’. The work’s title is The Treachery of Images; it’s commenting on how we perceive images and language. Unfortunately, if you want to see the original, you will have to go to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
